Istanbul

Heads of 54 countries accepted the Charter of the European Security for the twenty first century. Participants of the Summit also signed an agreement on control of conventional weapon in Europe, which includes decrease of troops number and heavy weapon. Also, declaration which stressed necessity of political solution of fights in Chechenia and would allow visit of an international delegation to the area, was adopted. Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Ante Jelavic, addressed to the participants of the Summit in behalf of the BiH delegation. He emphasised support for strengthening of the role and position of OSCE, whose further activities will be necessary for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Jelavic said that the Hague Tribunal was the key element for the reconciliation in BiH.

Sarajevo

Restructuring of SFOR will be made between January and March next year. This will not decrease our support for BiH civil institutions, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Guido Venturoni, said for OBN. Delegation of the Military Committee came to BiH today to inform themselves about current military and political situation. Tomorrow, the will visit Kosovo within the same mission. Before this visit, members of NATO Military Committee visited Stolac and Mostar. The Chairman said that the delegation was interested in having contacts with military officials from both BiH entities. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Vedran Persic.

Banja Luka

Today, the RS Government held an extraordinary session in Banja Luka in order to discuss the draft of the BiH permanent election law. OBN reporter from Banja Luka, Valentina Knezevic, confirmed that the Government concluded that the draft law was in principle made in accordance to the RS Constitution. However, details such as duration of the RS President mandate were mentioned. The decision made at the session was that relevant ministries and the RS expert team should deliver their opinions and suggestions about the draft law which would be processed with the OHR.

Mostar

At the press conference held in Mostar, the Croat Demo-Christian Party in BiH presented a letter sent by the Head of the OSCE Mission in BiH, Robert Barry, who warned that the President of the Party, Petar Milic, was using inflammatory expressions in his statements. Petar Milic said that the accusations made by the OSCE Head were unfounded. The report was produced by OBN reporter from Mostar, Pejo Gasparevic.

Zagreb

President of the Representative House of the Croatian State Sabor, Vlatko Pavletic, after consultations with presidents of the Parliament parties’ clubs, has called another meeting of the Representative House for the next week in order to discuss some constitutional changes which would allow them to proclaim the President contemporary unable to perform his duties. Further discussion on the issue will be continued on Monday. Stojan Obradovic confirmed from Zagreb for OBN.

Banja Luka

One thousand and nine hundred workers of the Banja Luka factory “Incel” continued their strike which started a few days ago, OBN reporter from the area, Darko Savic, confirmed. They blame employers and the RS Government for the current, difficult situation in the company.

Kakanj

This was followed by a report on the 80 workers from Kakanj’s “Catici” company. Workers did not receive their salaries for the last nine months. On Monday they were told that there was no job for them any more. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Damir Kaletovic.

Sarajevo

A piece on eight projects of rehabilitation in the North West Bosnia worth 2,7 million dollars was finalized through support of UN Development Programme and Japanese Government. Foreign Minister of Japan, Masato Watanabe, said that further support to BiH depends on how much BiH authorities and its people were willing to implement the Dayton Peace Agreement. Prijedor

US Government has been funding reconstruction of first 34 houses in Biscani and Cemernica villages near Prijedor. Returnees were not satisfy with the progress of reconstruction. The report was produced by OBN reporter from the area, Milena Letic-Joves.
