Doljani

Zeljko Cosic, driver of the murdered Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Jozo Leutar was arrested in Doljani. He was suspected of committing an act of terrorism. Cosic has worked for the State Border Service. The Service protested because they were not warned about the arrest. Reported by Damir Kaletovic.

Sarajevo

A Delegation of the Croatian Assembly, led by the Vice-Chairman of the Assembly, Zdravko Tomac arrived in Sarajevo. The Croatian Delegation and the B&H Foreign Policy Board agreed to establish inter-parliamentary commissions that will rise several significant social, political and economic issues. Reported by Vedran Persic.

Guest in TV INFO was the Vice-Chairman of the Croatian Assembly, Zdravko Tomac. “We discussed several issues important for stabilisation of the whole region. We agreed to organise round tables in Sarajevo, Banja Luka and Zagreb, where we would discuss refugee problems”, Mr. Tomac said. “The situation in the Balkans will resolve very soon. Milosevic has become a burden even to his supporters, and he will be removed soon.”, Mr. Tomac added. “Croatia can significantly influence stabilisation of the region”, he added in the end of the interview.

Yugoslavia

EU leaders announced that they would immediately remove sanctions against Yugoslavia, if opposition won the elections.

Trial to several western officials, accused of war crimes in Yugoslavia, started in Belgrade. The US President, Bill Clinton, the British Prime Minister, Tony Blair and the NATO Secretary General, George Robertson are among the accused.

Great Britain will send additional 600 soldiers to Kosovo, before the elections in Yugoslavia, NATO announced. Reported by Gordana Frimel.

World

The President of South Korea opened construction of railway to North Korea.

The Philippines Government refused any further negotiations with Islamic rebels. 4 civilians died in fights against the Army and rebels who still keep hostages.

The US Defence Minister, William Cohen demanded that the Indonesian President prevent violence in East Timor.

Lorry drivers in European countries continue protests due to high fuel prices. Zeljka Lekic reported on world events.

Banja Luka

The RS Government defined a proposal for changes in the RS Budget Law for this year. They also accepted the proposal of the IMF for fight against the black market and increase of public revenue. The RS Prime Minister, Milorad Dodik did not attend the session. Reported by Tatjana Lajsic.

Mostar

The first international tender for sale of the tobacco factory in Mostar (“Fabrika duhana Mostar”) was organised. The tender will be opened until 14 November. It will be published in the “Financial Times”. The report was produced by Alisa Dzebo.

Sarajevo

A State Law on restitution has not been adopted yet, and the High Representative, Wolfgang Petritsch proclaimed invalid a set of laws on restitution in the RS. Mr. Petritsch changed the Law on privatisation of enterprises and banks, in order to protect foreign investors. The High Representative defined deadline for passing a law on restitution – November 2000. Mirna Sadikovic produced the report.

Tesanj

One elementary and three secondary schools have been closed, due to jaundice epidemic. The epidemic is spreading. An out-patient department was opened in Tesanj.

Sarajevo

About $20 million are spent for demining in B&H annually. According to experts, all mines in B&H will be marked by 2010. In the last five years, 318 people died in mine fields. Reported by Svjetlana Celic.

Sarajevo

A rock concert “Live for Life” will take place in October, in the Sarajevo Olympic Hall “Zetra”. Revenue from the concert will be used for demining. Performers from all parts of former Yugoslavia will participate at the concert. Reported by Slobodan Maksimovic.

The show “Cehov Said Goodbye to Tolstoy” will be performed in “Kamerni Teatar 55” on Tuesday, 19th September. It will be the last show within this year’s manifestation “Ljeto u Kamernom”, Meliha Hasanbegovic confirmed.
