Komusina
Catholic holiday Greater Mother of God was celebrated on the ruins of first and oldest shrine in Vrhbosanska archbishopric. 10 thousand pilgrims joined the procession headed by msg. Pero Sudar. Mass was held in the holy place of Kondilo. Displaced Catholics from Komusine expressed their wish to return home. Report prepared by OBN reporter Vanja Elezovic.
Sarajevo
Same holiday was celebrated in Banja Luka and other cities. In Sarajevo, more then 3 thousand people attended the mass headed by msg. Marko Josipovic. Tuzla
Sixth International Congress of the Islamic Association for Mental Health ended today in Tuzla. Experts from around the world were present. The main topic of the Congress was “Mental Health and Religion”. Several lectures concentrated on post-war trauma and means of treating it. The book with selected lectures will be published in Bosnian and English language.
Kosovo
Number of incidents in Kosovo is decreasing, but the violence is still present. KFOR forces and Serbs were targeted. At the same time, all around Serbia demonstrations against Milosevic were held. Velika Kladusa
15 thousand people or third of the population of Velika Kladusa left the city since the end of the war. There is no job, the municipality is facing financial difficulties. Dagestan
Large scale Russian offensive in Dagestan continues. State of emergency declared in Cecnia. Russian Ministry of Interior declared that 60 rebels were killed in the southwest. Teslic, Kamenica
10 thousand Croats are about to return to the region of Teslic. There is a lack of necessary material support for this large scale return. The refugees have been visiting their village for the past two months. There is no water or electricity. Not a single donor is present in the area. Report prepared by OBN reporter Muhamed Cabric
Celic
Representatives from the Federal and Cantonal Ministry of Health visited returnees in several places in RS bordering the Tuzla Canton to evaluate the health situation. Stolac
For the past two years children returnees to Stolac attended primary school in a private house. The number of pupils for the next school year should dramatically increase and their parents are insisting that kids should be given normal premises and attend classes in accordance with the federal curriculum. Brcko
In Brcko suburb called Brod, one primary school is being reconstructed. The funds for the construction works were provided by the USAID.
