The RS and Federation ministries of education signed a contract and declaration today, in order to harmonise teaching programmes in both entities. The education reform process will take a long time. This agreement is a large step towards B&H membership of the Council of Europe, representatives of this organisation announced. Reported by Zeljka Lekic.

The dairy “Milkos” from Sarajevo has many problems. After the union meeting on 5th May, the general director, Azem Kaljanac sanctioned those who attended the meeting. Employees say that Mr. Kaljanac has established a kind of dictatorship since he became the director. OBN reporter, Amarildo Gutic, analysed numerous irregularities in the dairy’s work.
Doboj
Employees of the “Niskogradnja” company in Doboj organised a strike today. They haven’t received their salaries for 14 months. The employees demanded the replacement of the director, Sretko Ilicic. Reported by Svjetlana Celic-Ninkovic from Doboj.
Banja Luka
The RS Army is faced with numerous problems. The Army pilots are on strike, because of low salaries, problems with planes and frequent evictions of pilots and their families, said the Mayor General Savo Sokanovic. The report was produced by Darko Savic.
Sarajevo
The Stability Pact Work Group will meet tomorrow in Sarajevo, in order to improve regional co-operation in the de-mining process. “The amount of money that has been allocated to this country for the de-mining process will gradually diminish, and when it happens, we will have to simplify our efforts, said Tim Horner, from HELP’s the de-mining programme. HELP have enough resources for work until August. Reported by Vedran Persic.

Today, the NAC officially invited Croatia to join the Partnership for Peace. The Croatian Prime Minister, Ivica Racan visited Brussels yesterday and presented a report on the situation in Croatia and the results of the new Government in Zagreb. “By sharing our values, Croatia has gained its place in the Euro-Atlantic family”, said the NATO Secretary General, George Robertson. A framework agreement with Croatia will be signed on 24th and 25th May in Florence. Reported by Alen Legovic, the “Sense” correspondent.

The Federation Prime Minister, Edhem Bicakcic and the B&H Presidency member, Ante Jelavic visited Praca today. A large number of houses have been reconstructed there, OBN journalist Sanjin Beciragic confirmed.
Bijeljina
The OBN affiliate, TV Arena from Bijeljina was robbed three days ago.
2 cameras, several microphones and some expensive equipment were stolen. “It is difficult to say whether the robbery has any political background, but it is possible”, said Darko Milosevic, the Director and editor in chief of TV Arena.
