As you know the Peace implementation Council decided in the Bonn Document that after 31 July, 1998, all Vehicles in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be required to bear the new license plates. Furthermore after 30 July, only vehicles carrying the new license plates may cross international borders.
In light of the delay of the introduced of the License Plate Agreement, due technical reasons related to the Vehicle Registration Document, please take note of the following new deadlines:
- The new deadline for crossing of international borders is extended to 1 June, from which date only vehicles carrying the new common license plates can leave BiH.
- The new deadline for all Vehicles in BiH to carry the new license plates is set to 31 August.
- The High Representative has also decided that the price 15 DM remains unchanged until 1 June to ensure that the civilians have a fair chance to obtain the new license plates for their vehicles. Therefore no police station in either Entity may charge more than 15 DM for the License Plates and the Common Vehicle Registration Document.
The Members of the Peace Implementation Council were informed about the new deadlines accordingly.
