At the 1100 o’clock IFOR press briefing at the Holiday Inn on Tuesday, 29th October questions were asked on the above subject
Answering from memory I apparently recalled a report I had seen but a couple of days previously and that had been wrongly dated 27th September 1996 instead of 27th October 1996. I recalled that the report had been dated in September.
This wrong1y gave the impression that the OHR knew of this report for more than one month.
In fact, the OHR had had no previous know1edge of the employment of the four individuals mentioned in the report.
The confusion is regretted. The error was (part1y) mine. The responsibi1ity for giving a false impression, however, is entirely my own. I apologize.
The OHR did not, in fact, know of this report earlier than two days ago. Neither did the OHR, therefore, pass this report on to IFOR or anybody else in the previous weeks.
