Jadranko Lucic, one of the suspects in case of murder of the B&H Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Jozo Leutar surrendered today. In his statement for “HINA”, Lucic denied all accusations.

Istambul

The arrest of Abdulkadir Palta with a bag full of blank diplomatic passports is still in the focus of attention of the Turkish media. According to the media, the smuggled passports arrived from Sarajevo. Reported by Jusko Bojadzic.

Yugoslavia

The Yugoslav President, Vojislav Kostunica met the OSCE Chairman, Benita Ferrero Waldner. “The ICTY office will be opened in Belgrade”, Ms. Ferrero-Waldner said after the meeting.

Mr. Kostunica met the Head of the UN Mission in B&H, Jacques Klein in Belgrade.

4 people were injured in last night’s uprising in a prison in Sremska Mitrovica. Prisoners demanded better living conditions in the prison. Gordana Frimel produced the report.

Banja Luka

The B&H Presidency member, Halid Genjac visited Banja Luka today. Mr. Genjac met representatives of the Office for return to Banja Luka, the Deputy Mayor, Omer Visic and several other officials. The Mayor of Banja Luka, Dragoljub Davidovic did not receive Mr. Genjac, allegedly due to other obligations, Milorad Milojevic reported.

6 local and international NGOs with their head offices in Banja Luka accused OHR, UNHCR and IPTF representatives of participating in obstruction of property restitution in the region of Banja Luka. In their letter to the High Representative, Wolfgang Petritsch they warned of numerous illegal acts and passiveness of international organisations. They demanded a written reply to their requests. Sarajevo

B&H “Elektroprivreda” paid DM 556 000 to the budget of the city of Mostar, in accordance with the order from the OHR. According to unofficial information, the money will mainly be used for reconstruction of facilities that were damaged in last year’s floods. According to expert analyses, employees of “Elektroprivreda” were responsible for the floods, Anes Alic reported.

Sarajevo

The Bulgarian Ambassador in B&H, Georgi Yurukov met representatives of the Canton Sarajevo Chamber of Commerce. “B&H and Bulgaria could co-operate in several fields”, Mr. Yurukov said. An inter-state agreement has already been completed, and it should be signed soon. Sevko Bajic produced the report.
