Ivanjica

The High Representative in B&H, Wolfgang Petritsch visited Ivanjica today. The international community will finance reconstruction of 45 houses in Ivanjica. Mr Petritsch contacted the US Ambassador in B&H, Thomas Miller in order to provide aid for reconstruction of water and power supply systems in Ivanjica. The report was produced by Vedran Persic.

Sarajevo

The US Ambassador in B&H, Thomas Miller tried to provide more help for returnees from his government. “I will try and find American investors, but I will not bring them if there are no good opportunities for investments”, said Mr Miller. American investors are waiting for “Mc Donalds” to enter the B&H market, which should take place soon. Local authorities still haven’t passed the law on registration of foreign investments. The SDA and SDP sessions took place behind closed doors today. The main theme of today’s SDA session was the appointment of the deputy chairman and the secretary of the party. The SDP Board adopted a report on election activities and marked it as very successful. They also adopted a conclusion on development of an independent judiciary. Belgrade

The third opposition protest was organised in Belgrade today. Protestors demanded free, democratic elections. They protested against the pressure on independent media and violence against citizens. Reported by Danica Ilic from Belgrade.

World

5 Serbs were injured in a bomb explosion in Kosovo Polje last night, announced KFOR in Pristina. Serbs blocked the road between Pristina and Pec, but KFOR removed the blockade.

The FRY Army introduced several strict measures for their forces in Montenegro. They received an order to shoot at any plane which enters Montenegro air space without having permission from Belgrade.

Rebels in Sierra Leone released 180 UN soldiers.

The UN was stationed at the Lebanon-Israeli border, in order to prevent further clashes.

The Protestant Party in Northern Ireland voted for revival of joint government with Catholics, which is the key objective of the peace agreement from 1998.

The President of Fiji replaced the kidnapped Prime Minister. He announced the appointment of the new Prime Minister on Monday.

Clashes between Eritrea and Ethiopia continue.

Mostar

A Conference on return took place in Mostar today. Representatives from more than 90 associations of the displaced and refugees, the Helsinki Board for human rights, NGOs and international organisations participated at the Conference. One of the conclusions of the Conference was that the return should be organised on a regional level. Reported by Alisa Dzebo.

Srebrenica

Serb delegates in the Srebrenica Assembly froze their work. The reason for this are many unresolved infrastructure issues. “Serb parties don’t want refugees to return, and they don’t want a multi-ethnical administration”, said Nesib Mandzic, the Chairman of the Srebrenica Assembly. The OHR in Srebrenica is trying to find a compromise. Reported by Damir Kaletovic.

Sanjin Kotoric produced a piece on the family Alicic, who voluntarily left the house of the family Keric in Tesanj, in order to enable them to move in, and return to their home.

Sarajevo
