16-year-old Ante Herceg died in a mine explosion today, after a group of children had found the bomb and activated it in a park.

Bijeljina

Incidents in Janja continue. 34 Bosniac houses were devastated in the last two days in Janja. Representatives of local authorities and a representative of the International Community met in Bijeljina today. They concluded that the security situation in Janja was not under control. SFOR increased the number of their soldiers in the region. “The UN Mission does not want to give any comments on the situation in Janja”, said the UN IPTF Spokesman for Banja Luka and Bihac, Alun Roberts. The Head of the Bijeljina Municipality, Dragomir Ljubojevic discussed the increase of security measures in Janja with SFOR representatives, Vesna Mladenovic reported.

Banja Luka

The Banja Luka Bishop, Franjo Komarica said for magazine “Novi List” that the RS Prime Minister was deluding the public with his statements on return of Croats. Reacting to the statement, Mr. Dodik accused the Bishop of organising departure of people from the area. Dodik rejected Bishop’s claims that 1000 people returned to their homes there. Mostar

Police in Stolac failed to arrest 7 Croats, accused of attacks against international representatives last night. “We have information that the suspects were informed by the police on the planned arrest “, said the UN Spokesman in Mostar, Stefo Lehmann. Reported by Mirsad Behram.

Sarajevo

The Federal Parliament passed several laws on tax and monetary policies. Trade taxes will be equal in both entities from now on. Discussion on proposed changes in the Law on work was postponed, after the Government had withdrawn the proposal from the procedure. Amarildo Gutic produced the report.

Banja Luka

The RS Government organised a session today in Banja Luka. The Government analysed the report on budget implementation in the first six months of this year. “The Government concluded that all costs by the end of the year should be reduced to planned amounts”, said the RS Minister of Finance, Novak Kondic. A provision on establishment of the RS Government Press Office was adopted, Tatjana Lajsic confirmed.

The Hague

The RS Minister of Justice, Cedo Vrzina will visit the Hague. He said that he would propose ICTY representatives to allow trials of indicted war criminals to take place in the RS.

World

Both flight recorders of the French plane “Concord” were found after the crash. All flights of the company “Concord” have been suspended.

After failure of the Israeli-Palestinian negotiations in Camp David, the Palestinian leader, Yasser Arafat said that the Palestinian state would be proclaimed on 13th September.

The Fiji Army arrested the rebels’ leader, George Spite. Adis Saranovic reported on current world events.

Sarajevo

Member of the B&H Council of Ministers, Martin Raguz met representatives of the Helsinki Committee for protection of human rights in B&H. “We will try to prepare a report on human rights in B&H for the Parliament by September”, Mr. Raguz said. B&H cannot solve the problem of slave trade without help from abroad, Sanjin Beciragic confirmed.

Kotor Varos

The Party of Democratic Progress decided that they would not participate in the executive authorities in Kotor Varos, because they did not get the desired post. Reported by Milorad Milojevic.

Zenica

The Austrian State Secretary of Health, Reinhart Waneck visited the Zenica Canton Hospital today. Authors of the study for reconstruction of the facility also visited the hospital. The Federation of B&H will participate in the reconstruction as well, Hajrudin Durakovic confirmed.
