The High Representative, Wolfgang Petritsch, delivered an address to the North Atlantic Council in Brussels today. It was the second time he has been invited to address the NAC. The High Representative also met separately with the Nato Secretary General, George Robertson.
The central theme of his speech was that SFOR’s continued presence in BiH is essential to the successful implementation of the DPA – and particularly to the implementation of his three strategic reform priorities. The High Representative outlined these: economic reform, accelerated refugee return, and the strengthening of the common institutions.
The High Representative also congratulated SFOR on their continued successes in the apprehension of indicted war criminals, and stressed the need for further reform of the Entity armed forces.
