OHR’s Statement at the International Agency’s Joint Press Conference

HR to Address BiH Parliament

The HR will be addressing both houses of the BiH parliament tomorrow morning at 10am.

He will be setting out the key choices facing BiH over the autumn, in particular regarding the major reforms in Customs/VAT, Defence and Intelligence. He will say that BiH’s future in Europe and membership of NATO’s PfP will depend on whether these reforms are successfully adopted. All political parties, both in government and in opposition, have a grave responsibility before them as they consider these reforms in parliament in coming weeks and months.

FM Ivanov to Meet High Representative

As you will know, Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov will pay a one-day visit to Sarajevo on Wednesday. He will meet with the Presidency, the Council of Ministers and Foreign Minister Ivanic, and he will also have a one-hour meeting with the High Representative. Mr Ivanov and the High Representative last met in Moscow in December, where they discussed progress in peace implementation in BiH and the importance of Russia’s sustained engagement in this process. There will be a short photo opportunity at the start of the meeting tomorrow, which you are all welcome to attend. I’ve brought along a media advisory with the details.
