The negotiations between the eleven political party leaders broke down late this evening because the RS political party leaders could not at this stage accept an agreement on police restructuring according to the EU’s three principals.

EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Affairs, Javier Solana, is a well known friend of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This politician with remarkable working experience gained in his homeland, Spain and in NATO and EU structures is an expert in the reform process which BiH must undertake in order to move closer to Euro-Atlantic structures.

I am pleased with the constructive meeting we had today with parliamentarian representatives from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Reports from the press that the SDS main board is going back on the agreement made by their own negotiators at meetings at Mount Vlasic on police restructuring are disturbing. If true, the consequences would be disastrous for the RS and for BiH as a whole. It would mean that the SDS has decided to destroy its chances of moving forward to modern Eu [...]

Leaders (authorized representatives) of eleven political parties met in Vlašić at the invitation of the High Representative aimed at finding a solution for police restructuring arrangements in BiH in order to open negotiations on BiH’s Stabilization and Association Agreement with the EU.
