The RS President, Biljana Plavsic, spoke today in Banja Luka with a delegation of the American Congress, led by Tom Porter, and American Ambassador Richard Kauzlarich. The delegation emphasised their hope that the RS leadership would continue its work on the realisation of free, democratic and independent media.

The discussion at today’s session of the RS Government centered on the draft proposed law on privatisation, and one could conclude that privatisation and transfer of ownership is one of the most responsible tasks for this Government. There were questions on how the information on stock of goods ended up in the cabinets of officials from Pale, mentioning the name of Momcilo Krajisnik.

The RS PM Milorad Dodik signed a contract with the Deputy Head of the World Bank, Geuganna Fargitei, on a credit amounting to $8,800,000 for renewal of the electricity supply. Dodik also met with a delegation of the American Congress, representatives of the British company “Berger International” and German company “Gheller”. The PM stated that they mainly discussed the privatisation process in the RS.

Members of the BiH Presidency at today’s meeting in Sarajevo accepted the plan for liquidation of the BiH National Bank and thereby put an end to all obstacles to establishing the BiH Central Bank, as well as for the last phase for the introduction of the new currency, the convertible mark.

One of the conclusions from today’s session of the BiH CoM was that the issuing of new BiH passports in the RS should start on July 2nd. The draft Law on Privatisation was adopted and should be discussed at sessions of the RS and Federation Parliaments. Co-Chairman of the CoM, Boro Bosic, clarified that the adopted draft obliges the entities to pass the Law on Privatisation according to which all citizens would be equal.

SFOR members in Banja Luka today arrested a Serb, Milojica Kos, who allegedly committed war crimes. According to SFOR, the Hague Tribunal claims that Kos was one of the commanders in the collective camp of Omarska, in the area of Prijedor.
