At today’s resumed second session of the RS NA, the deputies elaborated 10 items of the agenda. The RS President Nikola Poplasen addressed the Serb Parliament. Poplasen informed the NA deputies about the course of the PIC conference held in Madrid on December 15-16. During today’s session, the proposer of the law on changes and amendments to the Law on Housing Relations, the RS Government, withdrew the proposal of the law from the assembly procedure until, as it was said, some future assembly session. The KCDBiH deputies warned about the technical failure regarding publication of the text of the proposal of the Law on cessation of the application of the Law on Use of the Abandoned Property in the RS Official Gazette. After the discussion on this issue, it was agreed that the members of the legislative-legal commission would submit the report at some future session.

Regarding assembly session broadcasts and related problems, the International Administrator for the SRT Dragan Gasic sent a letter on broadcast the letter in whole: ” Dear Mr. Speaker, As I informed you and Mr. Malic in our conversation three weeks ago, the SRT will no longer directly broadcast the NA sessions… In the course of the assembly session, we have planned 2 programmes lasting from 30 to 45 minutes for each day, with a review of the events at the session…Only for special occasions, the possibility of direct broadcast is foreseen…”

By cutting a ribbon, the BiH Presidency Chairman Zivko Radisic, the President of Republic of Croatia Franjo Tudjman, the member of the BiH Presidency Ante Jelavic and the FBiH Prime Minister Edhem Bicakcic officially put into operation the first of 6 bridges between BiH and Republic of Croatia, which, after being destroyed in the war, is now functioning again. The WB financed the construction of the bridge by giving credits to BiH and Croatia amounting to $6.5 million.

The RS Prime Minister Dodik received in Banja Luka today the BiH CB Governor Peter Nicholl. As we unofficially discovered, the meeting mainly discussed the process of liquidation of BiH NB. This matter was also the subject of Peter Nicholl’s press conference held in Banja Luka today.

Should agreement not be reached with the FBiH Government, the OHR in Sarajevo will abolish all permanent decisions on abandoned apartments which were issued in the course of the war, the Sarajevo-based daily Dnevni Avaz reports today referring to sources in OHR.

The SNSD expects the RS President Nikola Poplasen to appoint a new prime minister designate who would be able to provide a parliamentary majority in the NA, representatives of the party stressed at a press conference held in Banja Luka today. Speaking on messages of the IC from the Madrid Conference, the SNSD representatives underlined that the authority invested in the HR to BiH were extended at this conference.

The SNS Vice President Svetozar Mihajlovic, at a press conference held in Banja Luka today, informed journalists of the positions and conclusions of last night’s session of the party Main Board pertaining to the new personnel decisions. Stanko Stanic was appointed Vice President of the party, and Risto Kozomara the president of the Executive Board.
