German Foreign Minister Klaus Kinkel will arrive tomorrow in the RS for an official visit. He is to hold separate meetings with the RS President Biljana Plavsic and the RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik in Banja Luka tomorrow. After the press conference, according to the protocol, there will be a cocktail at the hotel “Bosna”. Afterwards, he will meet with the heads of the religious communities in B&H – with the Banja Luka Orthodox Bishop Jefrem, Catholic Bishop Franjo Komarica and Mufti Ibrahim Halilovic. During his one-day stay in Banja Luka Klaus Kinkel will also be present at the presentation ceremony of the computer equipment which is a gift of the German government to the RS government.

SRT Evening News Commentary on official visits of the RS President and the RS Prime Minister to France, Germany and Austria and an announced official visit of Mr Kinkel to Banja Luka as well as on a new quality of relations between the RS and the world. After many years of isolation the iron curtain is lifted and the RS has stepped forward, through widely opened doors, towards Europe and the world.

The Arbitrator from the RS in the Arbitration Tribunal for the disputable portion of the IEBL in the Brcko area Vitomir Popovic expressed satisfaction today with the work of the Vienna conference concerning this issue. “The RS position in Vienna was much better than the one at the last year’s Rome meeting of the Arbitration Commission”, Professor Popovic stated and also added that he expected a positive solution in a final decision which should be made by 15 March of this year.

A voluntary surrender to the Hague Tribunal of the two Serbs Miroslav Tadic and Milan Simic indicted for alleged war crimes caused a lot of reactions from the world’s political centers today as well. They hailed the act of these two Serbs from the RS who arrived in the Hague last night.

Milenko Janjetovic, a Serb from Kozarska Dubica, who was captured during the operation called “Oluja” (Storm) in August 1995 and afterwards sentenced to 14 years of prison was released on 5 February 1998 after he had spent 911 days in the prison in Sisak.

The RS Defense Minister Manojlo Milovanovic stated today in an interview for “Vecernje novosti” that the rumours about the admission of the RS Army to the NATO were groundless. “The NATO standards are such that they cannot be economically met even by some much more developed countries that the RS”, Milovanovic explained and added that the RS Army was interested in taking part in the program “Equip and Train”. He again announced the changes in the RS Army Headquarters.

According to the “Flash” news agency the Election Convention of the SDS should be held on 22 and 23 February in Pale. The aim of this convention is modernization and reforming of the way of work of this political party which has lately faced big organizational problems.
