The FRY National Bank Clearing House stopped this morning the money circulation with the RS, agency Beta reports. The transactions between the FRY and the RS released this morning were canceled later. The official explanations for this move have not been given by either the FRY or the RS. However, it is assumed in the RS that this is the response to the decision of the RS Government on the new exchange rate of the KM in reference to the Yugoslav dinar.

The RS President Nikola Poplasen stated in Brcko today that what the republic and local authorities have done should be enough for Brcko to be finally confirmed by a decision of the arbitration tribunal as a territorial part of the RS and the area under its jurisdiction. Poplasen went on to say that the RS is truly interested in full and complete equality of all people in creating of the conditions which would enable the citizens of Brcko, and especially those who have decided to remain there, to have a normal life. The events and the expectations in Brcko were the subject of the press conference held by the President Poplasen, after working meetings with the members of the Executive Board, officials of the Municipal Assembly, representatives of political parties and the Supervisor Robert Farrand.

The High Representative Carlos Westendorp stressed that the B&H authorities should assume the responsibility for implementation of the Peace Agreement. The High Representative Carlos Westendorp attended today’s extraordinary session of the B&H Presidency held in Sarajevo which discussed the preparations for the PIC Conference that is to be held in Madrid next month.

The C0M will be actively involved in the preparations of the documents for the upcoming Madrid Conference, was concluded today at the session held in Sarajevo. The CoM Co-Chairman Boro Bosic stated after the session that a working group, which is supposed, by the next meeting to prepare the materials for the Madrid Conference which will be presented to the High Representative Carlos Westendorp as well, was formed.

The SDS Main Board decided to propose to the RS President Nikola Poplasen four candidates for the Prime Minister designate: Dragan Cavic from Banja Luka, Ignjo Jacimovic from Srpski Brod, Dragan Kalinic from Serb Sarajevo and Milenko Stanic from Vlasenica.

The president of the KCDB&H caucus Safet Bico stated that the post of the vice-president of the RS Assembly which is open at this point belonged to the KCDB&H. According to him, the KCDB&H will support the candidacy of the current RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik to the post of the Prime Minister designate. “We will support Dodik because that is the position of the IC, and because we are forced to chose the lesser of the two evils, but with certain conditions”, Bico said. “We will ask for the assessment of the progress achieved in the implementation of the Dayton Agreement every three months”, Bico explained.
