Mostar – OHR and OSCE Chiefs of Regional Offices, Sir Martin Garrod and David Foley held talks with HDZ BiH President and Party Member Ante Jelavic and Dragan Covic on the attacks against the Bosniak returnees and the situation in the southern parts of the N-H canton. Sir Martin expressed his serious concern about the situation, especially in Tasovcici and Aladinici. We are already taking strong measures with SFOR and I am confident that these talks with Jelavic and Covic will lead to some positive conclusions over the resignation of Valentin Coric and improvement of the situation in the Canton, Sir Martin told the news after the meeting. OHR Chief of the Regional Office reiterated once more that the returns must happen without any conditions. It is up to the local authorities to ensure strict security for the returnees, he added.

Mostar – Reginald Bonvie, IPTF Chief in Mostar, demanded in writing that the Cantonal Ministry for Internal Affairs officials replace Stanislav Buntic, Commissioner of the Police Office in Capljina. He also demanded a disciplinary investigation into Buntic’s alleged direct involvement in the 3 October attack on two Bosniak policemen as well as against Omer Cevra, Deputy in the Federal Parliament, informs BH Press. Bonvie also demanded an investigation into the killing in Tasovcici of the Bosniak returnee Adem Muminagic. The announced anti terrorist team of the Federal Ministry for Internal Affairs had not arrived in Mostar by the beginning of the Central News.

Sarajevo – The terrorist attacks on the returnees in the region of Capljina and Stolac were the topic of talks between Edhem Bicakcic, Federal Prime Minister and Dr. Christian Schwartz Schilling. International Mediator for BiH Schilling supported the realisation of the projects which will accelerate returns in the N-H Canton on two levels: firstly, as urgent aid and then as humanitarian assistance.

Sarajevo – Alija Izetbegovic, BiH Presidency Chairman received General Erik Shinseki in a farewell visit today. Izetbegovic thanked the General for his personal contribution to the peace in BiH.

Lusca Palanka – While in a part of our country the return process is almost not going ahead at all, in Lusca Palanka it is improving every day. Around 30 families returned there during recent days, and very soon another 120 families will come back. The return project will be realised in full if 3.500 Bosniak refugees from Prijedor who live in L.Palanka are able to go to their own homes. Representatives of the Prijedor Municipal Assembly visited the citizens of Serb nationality who returned to their reconstructed homes in Lusca Palanka, near Sanski Most. Governments of some European countries are helping with the realisation of returns. The Swedish Embassy and Swedish Immigration Association helped a larger group from Doboj to visit their home town.

According to the words of the Secretary General of the League, Zdravko Surlan, they did extraordinary human efforts in promotion of the inter human, inter national and inter religious relations in BiH.
