HR Westendorp recommended the European Committee to unfreeze the economic assistance for projects of the Sarajevo Housing Fund reconstruction, in order to implement the Sarajevo Declaration quicker and more effective. (BiH TV brought official press release from OHR).

The new European Human Rights Tribunal was inaugurated in Strasbourg today. This tribunal encircles the former European Human Rights Tribunal and the European Human Rights Commission. BiH delegation was also present at the occasion.

BiH Federation Government held a session in Sarajevo. The government supported activities of customs offices, MUP and CAFAO regarding prevention of smuggling commercial merchandises. The Government also determined changes of the set of the Privatisation Laws.

Una/Sana Canton Assembly constitutive session continued today in Bihac. CDU candidate Adil Boric was elected for the Assembly Chairman, while CDU candidate Mirsad Veladzic was elected for the Canton Governor.

US Special Envoy Gelbard visited Banja Luka today. After his meeting with the RS President Plavsic, RS Premier Dodik and BiH Presidency Chairman Radisic, Gelbard said the International Community will assist only those who implement Dayton.

State Experts Team for Missing Persons commenced the procedure of searching for bodies of 20 Bosniaks from Prozor, killed during the conflicts of BiH Army and HVO. It is estimated that those bodies are located on the city dump. In the past month, the experts team has discovered about 80 Bosniak bodies in the Prozor-Rama municipality.

OHR spokesperson Alexandra Stiglmeyer told the press that the OHR in August commissioned the special investigation into property management in Bugojno, to be conducted by the Federation Ombudsmen and the OSCE. Senior Deputy High Representative Schumacher presented the findings of a special investigation to Federation Premier Bicakcic and his deputy Bilandzija and asked them to take the appropriate measures, since the final report proved that there were illegal transactions of property.

A special session of Vogosca municipality council was held in Vogosca. The main issue of the session was cancelling the status of “Open City” to this municipality by UNHCR.

The Holland Government invested about 5 million DEM into reconstruction of houses and infrastructure of the Velez Mountain plateau region. About 250 houses remained to be reconstructed and that citizens are supposed to return here during November.
