Thelin said that the main task of the IMC is to direct the media in BiH towards European standards and to establish institutions that will ensure respect of these standards. Thelin stated that the basic request is respect of freedom of speech, because without this there is no democracy. Thelin stated that this freedom is frequently limited and for its preservation, self-regulation and media independence is necessary. Self-regulation refers to the print media and their respect of established principles of media behavior and media independence includes the operation of the media without influence from their owners, stated Thelin.

RTV BiH addresses open letter to BiH Federation Parliament and highest BiH Federation officials The Independent Syndicate of RTV BiH workers addressed an open letter to BiH Federation officials, expressing disappointment with their behavior towards RTV BiH. “For years you have forgotten the work of more than 1000 workers of this institution. The peak of this behavior was the procedural omission at the latest session of the BiH Federation Parliament House of Representatives. We remind you that it is your obligation to legislatively regulate our work. RTV BiH workers do not want to depend on the current political sophistry and the short-term interests of some political parties.” The letter was signed by Syndicate President Miodrag Oljaca and addressed to Enver Kreso, Edhem Bicakcic, Ivo Andric Luzanski, Ejup Ganic and the OHR, appealing to them to initiate a discussion on the draft law on BiH Federation TV and find a way of financing TV BiH until the adoption of this law.
