NATO/Yugoslavia

As stated by Brussels the Chinese Embassy was hit accidently due to wrong information being supplied from the information office. NATO officials also said that there would not be any additional information due to the importance of secrecy in a war situation. NATO hoped that China would accept the fact it was an accident and remain involved in searching for solving the Kosovo crises. NATO Spokesman, Jamie Shea, said that the only contribution to this could be an extension of the air campaign.

Demonstrations were held in front of American and British Embassies and other were held in Peking. The Chinese Government supported all legal protests against the strike on the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade.

Separate meetings of the Ibrahim Rugova with Carl Bildt, Victor Chernomyrdin and Schroder were held in Bonn. Rugova reiterated his support to NATO strikes against Yugoslavia.

OBN’s reporter from Skopje, Safet Bisevac made a piece on the German Foreign Affairs Minister arrival to Macedonia.

Yugoslavia

Last night’s targets were railways and roads, radio and TV transmitters, airports and military positions in Kosovo and other. OBN’s reporter from Belgrade, Natasa Narancic, reports that there were no injured people. According NATO data 1.900 targets were hit out of 9.000 projectiles dropped. Only 12 projectiles lost their direction. The Liberation Army of Kosovo rejected the Yugoslav accusation as being responsible for the death of Fehim Agani.

UNHCR

According to the UNHCR data there are 718.200 refugees and replaced people from Kosovo. The UNHCR also said that any financial resources for aid were not paid. Up to now only a half of the money proposed (153 million dollars) had been paid.

Banja Luka

A report on the Europe Council for Politics and Human Rights press-conference. OBN’s reporter from Banja Luka, Dragan Stanimirovic, reported that after this visit, representatives of the European Council will inform the Parliament of Europe about Bosnian capability to join the European Council.

Sarajevo

The House Peoples Representatives of the Federation BiH Parliament discussed the safety in Bosnia following two murders in Sarajevo. The Police Office reports were not for publicity but OBN’s reporter Damir Kaletovic found that in the first three months of 1999 more than 3.500 criminal acts were registered in the Federation BiH.

The Srednja Bosna Canton

OBN’s reporter Amarildo Gutic reported on twenty policeman from Vitez, Busovaca, Travnik, Novi Travnik and Bugojno who were retired illegally ten months ago. It was the decision of the Deputy Interior Minister of the Srednja Bosna Canton. But the documents they have as confirmation for this were not adopted in the Pension Department in Mostar. Even the seal on these documents was not legal.

BiH

Next week the Federal ombudsmen will present their Annual Report. In this last year a sigtnificant number of rights have been broken regarding returning home and about 80% of cases have been registered.

World

Information on the UN Resolution on East Timor issue. Three persons were killed in the American strike on Iraq. The Holy Father took part in the Orthodox prayer in Romania. On the occasion of the 9th of May, Jeltzin said that it is a duty of Russian people to strengthen its Army. On the same occasion there was an incident in Zagreb where a group of people wanted to revamp the previous name of the central square.

Mostar/Banja Luka

Hundreds of antifascists from Srednja Bosna Canton, Hercegovina Neretva Canton, Sarajevo Canton and Banja Luka assembled today to lay flowers and visit the monuments of the victims of Fascism. People from Banja Luka were sure that Fascism did not disappear on 1945. As it was decided in the BiH Association of the Camp inmates, the day when Fascism was won (9th May) would be marked as the Camp inmates Day. OBN’s reporter Azra Bajric reported on the funeral of 99 bodies from Hrastova Glavica in Sanski Most.
