The High Representative, Wolfgang Petritsch met B&H Presidency members at his request. “I wanted to tell them that I was not satisfied with yesterday’s appointment of Spasoje Tusevljak as the new Chairman of the Council of Ministers”, Mr. Petritsch said. “For me, the process was very unprofessional”, he added. “Our work will stop the dilemma of the international community”, Tusevljak said. Banja Luka

“The appointment of Tusevljak will not end the crisis with the Council of Ministers”, said Mladen Ivanic, the PDP Chairman. Members of the SDS see this appointment as a positive step forward. As the SDS Chairman, Dragan Kalinic said, this party is ready to suggest several of their members for various positions at the Council. Reported by Tatjana Lajsic and Dragan Stanimirovic.

Sarajevo

The Chairman of the B&H Presidency, Alija Izetbegovic announced his resignation on 12th of October 2000. The OSCE feel that this is a unique opportunity for the B&H Parliament to pass the draft election law. “Parties need to take the situation seriously”, said Tanya Domi, the OSCE Spokesperson. As OBN reporter Vedran Persic unofficially found out, the High Representative will impose the decision on adoption of the draft election law, if necessary.

World

At least 21 people died in an explosion in the capital of Sri Lanka, Colombo.

The NATO Secretary General, George Robertson rejected accusations of the “Amnesty International” that the NATO was responsible for killing of civilians during last year’s air strikes against FRY.

The ICTY announced that there was no basis for investigation against NATO and their role in FRY during last year’s air strikes.

The FRY Prime Minister, Momir Bulatovic said that they officially requested from the UN Security Council to withdraw their civil mission and KFOR from Kosovo.

Prime ministers from south-east Europe met in Salonika, in order to discuss themes within the Stability Pact.

The US Secretary General, Madeline Albright met the Egyptian President in Cairo.

Mostar

The rock band “Parni valjak” from Zagreb organised a concert at the former division line between east and west Mostar. Citizens from both parts of the town attended the concert. An explosion could be heard from the west part of Mostar during the concert. The International Police claim that the explosion wasn’t in any way related to the concert. Reported by Blazica Kristo.

Banja Luka

A bomb exploded in front of a Serb house in Banja Luka. The IPTF demanded that the local police carry out a detailed investigation. Reported by Sanela Zivkovic from Banja Luka.

Zavidovici

Employees of the company “Ziko” from Zavidovici blocked the road near this town today. This was the 24th day of the strike. They demand payment of 8 salaries that they haven’t received yet. The report was produced by Mustafa Mujanovic.

On the 1st of June, B&H became part of the famous European Company “Grimex” from Vienna, producer of healthy food. The aim f the company is to establish co-operation between countries of south-east Europe. Reported by Anes Alic

This evening’s guest of TV INFO was Ivan Gros, the General Manager of “Grimex” in Vienna. “Our main aim is to establish co-operation between countries of south-east Europe”, Mr. Gros said. “Our office in Sarajevo will inform us on important economic events in B&H”, he added. “We always have to be present on the market”, Mr. Gros said. “Borders need to be opened, in order to establish a free trade between these countries”, he added.

Kopaci

On 11th March, 50 Bosniacs left their tents and moved in two houses in Kopaci. Local authorities promised them help in cultivation of land, but they didn’t keep the promise. Returnees called Mr. Petritsch to visit them. They are thinking of building a new tent settlement in front of the OHR building. Reported by Amarildo Gutic.
