Macedonia

Soldiers played the role of diplomats in reference to the Kosovo crises. Representatives of the NATO and Yugoslav Army came together for instructive discussion on the peace keeping plan implementation and the beginning of the withdrawal of soldiers, policeman, military equipment and weapon in Macedonian city Blace. Safet Bisevac from Macedonia reported for OBN.

Yugoslavia

In the last 24 hours Serbian forces in Kosovo were hit, but not intensive as up to now. As it announced by OSCE monitors and Albanian policeman, Serbian artillery bombed the Albanian borderland. Exodus from Kosovo is ongoing. About 100 new refugees in Tirana said that there was no withdrawal of the Yugoslav Army.

Reactions

Bill Clinton agrees with suspension of the air campaign and he approves the beginning of the Yugoslav Army withdrawal from Kosovo. He underlined the air campaign would be continued until Serbian Forces start with withdrawal. According to the EU Summit President of the European Commission said that rebuilding in Kosovo may cost about 30 billion dollars. Shroeder said there will not be trial trough Milosevic during the peace process. Meeting in Bonn on the Proposal for the UN Resolution on ground troops in Kosovo issue was postponed until results from the meeting between NATO representatives and Yugoslav Army. Vojislav Seselj proposed withdrawal of the Radicals from the Serbian Government in the case of Yugoslav Army withdrawal from Kosovo.

Banja Luka

According to the answers in questionnaire, citizen of Banja Luka agree with peacekeeping plan.

Kosovo aspects

War in Kosovo will cost a few billion dollars. Therefore, International Monetary Fund and World Bank decided to allocate 2,2 billion dollars for Kosovo refugees care to Bosnia and Herzegovina and another countries in the region. Economic aspect of the Kosovo crises was the topic of the round table held in Sarajevo. Serbian representative Aleksandar Popov were not permitted by his government to attend this session. President of the SDP Council from Monte Negro, Radovan Radonjic came in Sarajevo for this occasion. He spoke about problems in Monte Negro and future of the Balcans in OBN’s Special Program.

Ogata in Banja Luka

EU made the Pact on stability in the South-East Europe. This Pact should be adopted in K=F6ln on June 10. This is opportunity to enter United Europe for those who respect the Peace, Democracy and Human Rights. UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Sadako Ogata, visited Serbs – refugees from Croatia.

Gorazde

According to the Annex 7 of Dayton Agreement, for OBN Alma Kazagic from Gorazde reported that 27 Serb families applied to return their homes in Federation BiH, and 676 Bosniak families applied to return in Srpsko Gorazde, where they lived before war. Housing is a great problem in this region because of refugees. As questionnaire in Srpsko Gorazde showed, Serbs hardly rejected to return their homes in Federation BiH. For OBN Svjetlana Celic-Ninkovic from Doboj reported from the round table where participants expressed that there are conditions to live together in Bosnia.

Ugljevik/Bijeljina/Tesanj

A pieces by Sreten Lazic and Zeljko Pantelic on infrastructure and agriculture in Republika Srpska and relationship with Slovenia. Zlatka Karahodzic from Tesanj made a piece on the certificate ISSO-9001 for the factory of spare-parts “Unis”.

Banking system in BiH

According to the Unit for Bank Privatization, ten out of 18 registered banks in Republika Srpska fulfilled conditions to participate in privatization process. At the same time Agency for Banking in Federation BiH made a decision to put “BH Bank” under special control, after illegal transactions were discovered. OBN’s reporter Amarildo Gutic searched this topic.

Schools in BiH

The educational system should work in order to form the base of democracy and tolerance amongst young people. We can not expect unique educational plan for schools in BiH jet, but it will be probably worked out for next year.
