The Hague
At the Hague Tribunal for War Crimes committed on the territory of ex Yugoslavia, the indictment to recently arrested Radomir Kovac from Foca has been read today, OBN reporter from Hague confirmed. Kovac pleaded innocent.
Belgrade
This was followed by report on others suspected for war crimes, the main organisers and perpetrators of war crimes in BiH, Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic. According to the Hague Tribunal Deputy Prosecutor, Mladic is in Belgrade. A report on this was produced by OBN reporter from Belgrade, Natasa Narancic.
A piece on protests in Serbia against Slobodan Milosevic. Thousand of people were on the streets demanding his resignation.
Zagreb
Authorities in Zagreb prepare “White Book” which should prove continued co-operation of the Republic of Croatia with the Hague Tribunal. However, a decision of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Croatia to release Vinko Martinovic – Stela, who is on the Hague list of those suspected for war crimes, would not contribute improving relations between Croatia and the Hague Tribunal.
Banja Luka
A report on four years of military action “Storm” and “Flash” performed by the Croatian Army against Serbs in Croatia when many of whom were killed and expelled.
Kosovo
A piece on the current situation in Kosovo and continuation of violence. Last night, the bodies of two Serbs were found. OBN reporter, Gordana Frimel, produced the report.
Brussels
The British Defence Minister, George Robertson, was appointed as the new NATO Secretary General. The decision was formally confirmed by the ambassadors of the member states at the session of the NATO Permanent Council.
Banja Luka
At the press conference held today in Banja Luka, the BiH Presidency member, Zivko Radisic, denied agreement signed between BiH and Croatia on borders between two states. Zivko Radisic said that the agreement was not valid until parliaments from both entities accepted it.
Mostar
A report on the BiH Federation Government session held today in Mostar. The Government ratified four annexes of the agreement on special relations between BiH Federation and the Republic of Croatia.
Banja Luka
Head of the OSCE Mission in BiH, Robert Barry, held a press conference in Banja Luka today. The press conference was organised after his decision to withdraw final verification of the election results in the Drvar Municipality. The Head of the Mission talked about new Permanent Election law in BiH.
Srebrenica
A report on the opening of Municipality Board Office by the BiH Social Democrat Party. This is the first political party with the hub in Federation with their premises in Srebrenica.
Sarajevo
This was followed by a report on a new agreement between the European Commission and the BiH Council of Ministers worth KM 135 million. The funds will be directed towards reconstruction of flats, houses and infrastructure in places where refugees return. OBN reporter, Adis Saranovic, produced the report.
Stup
A piece on reconstruction of houses in Stup, Sarajevo. The funds provided for the project are DEM 5,4 million. The project will be finalised in November this year.
Mostar
Optical cable between Mostar and Sarajevo began working today. This will enable better phone and information links in the state.
This was followed by a report on the OHR decision on free reconnection of the pre-war phone lines. The decision was made in order to protect returnees.
