Brcko

320 policemen in the Brcko District took a solemn oath. “Forming of multi-ethnic police in Brcko District is very important”, said the Head of the UN Mission, Jacques Klein. Reported by Vedran Persic.

Banja Luka/Bocinja

RS authorities sharply reacted to the announced movement of mudzahedins from Bocinja to Srebrenica and Bratunac. “Local police should realise evictions in Bocinja, or an alternative accommodation should be provided for mudzahedins”, said IPTF UN Spokesman in Banja Luka and Bihac. 43 families, who could return to their homes, were evicted from Bocinja. A refugee camp was constructed in Bocinja for refugees from the RS whose houses were devastated. They will move into the tents, if an alternative accommodation is not provided for them, Mirna Sadikovic reported.

Sarajevo

“$49 million of loan to B&H from the World Bank will not be realised, until the required conditions are fulfilled in B&H”, the Director of the World Bank in B&H, Christian Portman said. Mr. Portman will visit the RS tomorrow. Zeljka Lekic produced the report.

Sarajevo

A new factory of mineral water, “Ilidzanski dijamant” started a test production. German experts in this field are training employees of the factory. It will be opened in September, Slobodan Maksimovic confirmed.

Kiseljak

A public discussion on privatisation of the company “Sarajevski kiseljak” was organised last night by the company management. They are trying to privatise a part of the public capital by public subscription of shares.

In this way, citizens of Kiseljak could become majority owners of the company. Management of “Sarajevski Kiseljak” demand cancellation of tender, according to which 42% of the company capital were sold to “Jamnica”. Reported by Ana Drmac.

Belgrade

The Serbian media published the information on disappearance of the former politician, Ivan Stambolic for the first time. Citizens of Novi Sad cannot watch the Montenegrin TV, OBN, Croatian TV and Hungarian TV “Duna” any longer. These programmes were transmitted by cable networks. The Yugoslav Ministry of Information ordered cancellation of such transmissions.

Yugoslav officials’ visa applications were rejected by the US Government. They should have participated in the Conference of Inter-Parliamentary Union in New York. Reported by Danica Ilic.

The Chinese Embassy was opened in Sarajevo today. This was the first day of diplomatic agreements between China and B&H, Sevko Bajic confirmed.

The OHR is shocked by irresponsibility of certain members of the B&H House of Representatives in yesterday’s session. “There was no quorum for a very important discussion on a new B&H passport. The OHR will closely observe the work of this body in future”, OHR announced.
