The Hague

The French President visited the Hague Tribunal today. He said his country would do everything necessary for the arrest of those indicted for war crimes. The French President met with the President of the Hague Tribunal and the Main Prosecutor. SFOR French troops are stationed in West Bosnia which is still a place where a number of war criminals has been hiding. The most important topic in the Hague was readiness of France to support the arresting of Radovan Karadzic. The report from the Hague for TV INFO was produced by Vjera Bogati.

This was followed by a piece on the second day of the trial of the four individuals (“Kvocka and others”) indicted for war crimes committed in the concentration camps in Omarska, Keraterm and Trnopolj in the Prijedor area. Sarajevo

Prime Ministers of BiH entities, Milorad Dodik and Edhem Bicakcic, met in Sarajevo today. Some of the topics Prime Ministers discussed were return of property, joint anti-corruption strategy and opening of an air line between Sarajevo and Banja Luka. Both Prime Ministers addressed to the press after the meeting.

An item on the session of the Representative House of the BiH Parliament. The representatives discussed the suggestions for the law on the BiH Council of Ministers, OBN reporter, Damir Kaletovic, confirmed.

This was followed by a report on the press conference of the international organisations held in Sarajevo today. The OSCE Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that voting in the municipality elections for 230,000 voters out of Bosnia and Herzegovina begins tomorrow. The Office of the High Representative recommended citizens to sent their applications for apartment purchase in the BiH Federation to the owners of apartments if they are not able to submit them by March 6th. Austria

Jorg Heider resigned from his party position. However, the West is cautious about this decision. The Austrian President think that this was not a tactical move but a serious try of Austria to alleviate pressure on the Coalition Government of Austria. However, a part of Austrian officials and many others in the world think this was a tactical move which should help him to achieve his ultimate goal – to become a Chancellor of Austria on the following parliamentary elections. World

According to the report from Serbia, an official of UN was wounded in an incident which occurred in the Dobracina village near the border to Kosovo. Five hundred members of the International Peace Forces have been deployed in the Kosovska Mitrovica area. The UN Special Envoy for the Balkans, Carl Bildt, said that the Yugoslav President, Slobodan Milosevic, was preparing a military intervention in Montenegro. The European Union confirmed a decision to cancel a ban imposed on the flights to the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. In Chechnya, Russians announced they conquered the last strongpoint of the Chechen Army. The report on current events in the world was produced by OBN journalist, Gordana Frimel.

Gorazde

A piece on the difficult economic situation in the Bosansko-Podrinjski Canton. Only 4,300 people in the municipality work. There is the same number of pensioners and some 3,000 workers do not work at all. Many people have already left Gorazde. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Amarildo Gutic.

Sarajevo

This was followed by a piece on the strike of the employees of the Sarajevo “Marketi” company. For the last ten months, the employees did not receive a single salary, OBN reporter, Sefko Bajic confirmed.

Jajce / Travnik

A report on the reconstruction of the electricity supply system in the Srednja-Bosna Canton. USAID invested more than 4 million DEM in the project. The project was implemented by electricity supply companies of BiH and Herceg-Bosna.

Ahmici

The USAID provided 474,000 DEM for the reconstruction of an elementary school in the Ahmici village, Vanja Elezovic confirmed for TV INFO.

Sarajevo

Two individuals were arrested in Sarajevo for stealing goods worth 20,000 DEM, OBN reporter, Slobodan Maksimovic, confirmed.
