The OSCE announced start of the pre-election campaign in B&H. About 2,5 million citizens will vote on 11th November. Municipal elections in Srebrenica will take place on the same day. The OSCE will supervise the elections, Vedran Persic reported.
Yugoslavia
The Federal Election Commission announced that a new election round should be organised in Yugoslavia, because Kostunica won 48% and Milosevic 40% of votes. Democratic opposition is convinced that their candidate, Vojislav Kostunica already won the elections. The situation in Montenegro is tense. The Montenegrin police are patrolling around the country, waiting for official results in Yugoslavia. Western officials called for Milosevic to accept the election defeat. Sarajevo
The Peace Implementation Council in Brussels is considering withdrawal of DM 150 million of loan for B&H, due to non-adoption of amendments to the Law on pension and invalid insurance by the Federal Parliament. The RS Assembly has already fulfilled international conditions by adoption of amendments to the Law on Pension and Invalid insurance. Reported by Mirna Sadikovic.

The B&H Presidency discussed responsibility of the Chairman of the B&H Council of Ministers, Spasoje Tusevljak, due to his too long stay in Sydney. Tusevljak’s mandate should end on 12th October, and one of the Croat ministers in the Council should be his successor. The B&H Presidency member, Ante Jelavic said that the most serious candidate for the post is Mr. Martin Raguz, the B&H Minister for Human Rights and Refugees.

The Head of the Swiss team of surgeons, Vladimir Velebit cancelled the DM 2,5 million worth project for free heart operations at the Sarajevo Clinical Centre, due to arrogant behaviour of the Management of the Clinics, led by Dr. Ismet Pezo. The Clinical Centre will try to solve disputes with dr. Velebit in the next days. Reported by Amarildo Gutic.

Banja Luka
129 300 refugees applied for re-registration in the RS. Real number of refugees and displaced people is unknown, because such registration did not take place since signing of the Dayton Peace Accords, Suzana Vukcevic reported.
Kiseljak
Not a single house in the village of Duhre, near Kiseljak has been reconstructed, 5 years after submitting citizens’ requests. Citizens of the village sent a protest letter to municipal authorities and international organisations. Reported by Ana Drmac.
Sarajevo
9 privatisation investment funds have been registered so far in the Federation of B&H. Only two fulfilled the legal census of DM 200 million in securities. If other funds do not fulfil the request, shares shall be returned to citizens. Slobodan Maksimovic produced the report.

The Fourth International Exhibition of small economy, “Doboj 2000” was opened in Doboj. 109 economists from both B&H entities, Yugoslavia, Croatia and Slovenia will participate in the exhibition.
