Sarajevo
“Elektroprivreda” announced that users can expect improvement in electricity supplying as from today. Mines Banovici, Breza and Djurdjevik got electricity. Up to date damage is estimated to be between 15 and 20 million DEM. Banja Luka
This was followed by a report on the current situation in the RS. The river Drina flooded the Janja town and the Amajlije village last night. For the time being, there were no material damage because the prevention measures had been introduced. Because of severe weather conditions, there were problems with the electricity supply. Sarajevo
Current situation in Sarajevo has normalized. Approximately 100 vehicles and 200 cleaners have been cleaning snow on the Sarajevo streets. Traffic in the center of the town is functioning. The situation in the suburbs is more difficult. The report was produced by OBN reporter, Anes Alic.
Tuzla
A report on the current situation in the Tuzla Canton followed. Problems with the electricity supply is very present in the Canton. Municipalities Banovici, Kladanj, Rahic, Celic, Kalesija, Gradacac, Sapna, Zivinice, Lukavac, Srebrenik and a part of Tuzla do not have electricity. Kiseljak
Most of the municipalities in the Srednja-Bosna Canton did not have electricity in the afternoon, OBN reporter from Kiseljak, Branka Vrebac, confirmed.
This was followed by a report on the current situation in other parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Because of the lack of water and electricity, the state of emergency was proclaimed in the Foca Municipality. In the Doboj area, because of the damage of the electricity supply system, areas of Ozren and Petrovo were left without the electricity supply. A report on the floods which struck Venezuela. At least 200 people were killed in the severest floods which struck the country for the last 50 years. This was followed by a report on the continuation of fights in Chechenia. The Russian Prime Minister said that Russia would not change its tactics in Chechenia. Last night in Kosovo, one individual was killed and nine were wounded in an attack on a Serb coffee bar in Orahovac. This was followed by reports on current events in Serbia and Iraq followed. HDZ
This was followed by a press release issued by the HDZ party in BiH. The HDZ party (Croatian Democratic Union) announced that they were unsatisfied with the process of the RTV BiH reconstruction, and the functioning of the Founding Board of the BiH Public Service. Also, they expressed their dissatisfaction regarding the structure of the Federal Television Council. The Presidency of the HDZ in BiH announced they would cancel participation of Croat representatives in the reconstruction of the public broadcast system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Hague Tribunal
After the Main Prosecutor of the Hague Tribunal, Carla del Ponte, was presented with the results of SFOR October action in Mostar, the Prosecutor said that the Tribunal had been obviously spied. The Prosecutor added that the results of the investigation have shown how far political leaders in the ex Yugoslavia would go in order to avoid Tribunal’s investigation. The Head of the Croatian National Security, Ivica Primorac, said that the work of the Intelligence Service of Croats in BiH was legal and legitimate, and in accordance with the Dayton Peace Agreement.
Banja Luka
A promotional flight Banja Luka-Belgrade was canceled today because of thick fog at Banja Luka airport. The flights were cancelled on March 24th because of NATO strikes against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. The Air Srpska and Air Bosnia have signed an agreement on cooperation and now entities’ governments have to adopt a legal framework for the cross-entity air traffic.
