Yugoslavia

As Serbian media reported, NATO intensified strike on Yugoslavia today. During last night the industrial area and infrastructure all over Serbia were bombed. OBN’s reporter from Belgrade Tatjana Stankovic reported that two factories and oil storage in Cacak, military targets near Avala hill, the airport Batajnica and another targets had been targeted.

The Leader of SPO Party Vuk Draskovic said that withdrawal of the police and military forces in Kosovo was a good act. This was the first public reaction from Belgrade on Yugoslav Government decision to withdraw army and police forces from Kosovo. But a general from NATO denied this statement and said that there was no evidence for partial withdrawal.

Kosovo – reactions

According to a statement of British officials, the top representatives of Group 7 and Russia will probably come together on Friday to make a framework for a Resolution on Kosovo. This Resolution will be introduced to the UN.

NATO Spokesman, Jamie Shea said that partial withdrawal of Serbian forces in Kosovo was not sufficient and that complete withdrawal should start. He announced that NATO intend to continue the strike with the same intensity. He was sure that Milosevic should be put under military, diplomatic, and economic pressure.

The Hague

Belgium, Canada and France, among ten NATO members, denied Yugoslav right to charge NATO in a front of the UN highest judiciary body. Yugoslav relying on the Convention of Genocide was estimated as cynicism. Yugoslavia was not a member of UN.

Kosovo – refugees

About 150 refugees from Kosovo were removed to the camp in Southeast Albania from Macedonia during the night. Macedonian officials said that Macedonia can not stand this sort of a pressure and asked international community for help. It was planned for 6.000 Kosovo refugees to be resited. There are 238.900 refugees from Kosovo in Macedonia in the moment.

Sarajevo

Fifth session of the Federal House of Representatives of the Parliament BiH was held. Representatives adopted the budget proposal for common institutions, which was one of the conditions for the Donor’s Conference.

According to the OBN’s Danijela Bozic report from the session of the Ministry Council, it was expected the Donor’s Conference to be held on the date proposed 20 and 21 of May. Assistance of 70 countries was expected as well as the World Bank and the European Union asking for one billion dollars of help. This amount included additional 200 million dollars.

The session of the Forum of Federation started this morning. High Representative Deputy, Jacques Klein, said that the time for Bosnia would expire because of Kosovo crises. After nine hour there was no results from this session. Standpoints were agreed without any signature. Problem appeared when BiH Deputy Prime Minister Dragan Covic did not accept unification or reform of the Pension Funds.

SFOR

OHR Spokesman, Alexandra Stiglmayer, said that the High Representative in BiH, Carlos Westendorp, was worried about economic crises in Republika Srpska, caused by NATO strike on Yugoslavia. SFOR Spokesman made a comment on yesterdays’ Nikola Poplasen’s meeting with high officers of Republika Srpska Army. He said that he was not permitted to promote military officers.

In the Federation BiH delivering of certificates is ongoing. It is planned a million and 900 hundred of certificates to be delivered during May and than the period for any complaints will be available for 30 days.
