Today, the Office of the High Representative opened a sub-office in Livno in Canton 10, which will operate under the authority of the OHR Office South in Mostar.
The Head of the Office is Gerhard Sontheim, Deputy Head of the OHR Office South.
The Livno Office has been established in order to further the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement in Canton 10. Implementation results in that Canton have been poor so far, which has put the citizens of that area at a serious disadvantage.
The OHR Office will coordinate the work of the international organizations operating in Canton 10, enter into a permanent dialogue with the local authorities and work on accomplishing the objectives of the peace process. The most important are economic reform and the establishment of the Rule of Law, which requires an independent judiciary and professional police force as well as an efficient implementation of the property legislation.
