Sarajevo

The Federal Government prolonged the deadline for flat purchase until the 6th September. The General Collective Contract was also adopted. Croat members of the Government voted against it, because they feel that the B&H Union is not an adequate partner for negotiations. The report was produced by OBN journalist Amarildo Gutic.

Tuzla

Employees of the “Polihem” Company in Tuzla, who were on the waiting lists, organised a protest today. According to the Law, they will lose this status tomorrow, and will no longer be employees of this company. If the management don’t grant their requests, they will continue with protests. Sarajevo

The SDA Board voted non-confidence in the Federation President, Ejup Ganic. “If Ganic doesn’t resign soon, our delegates will replace him”, said Adnan Jahic, the SDA Spokesman. Reported by Sanjin Beciragic.

This evening’s guest in TV INFO was Ejup Ganic, the President of the Federation of B&H. “The issue of my resignation should be resolved within the SDA”, said Ganic. “The SDA should be reformed, and there are some people in the Board who don’t want changes”, he added. “A part of the SDA Board demanded my resignation, and I am determined not to obey, because I feel that common people strongly support me”, said Ganic.

Banja Luka

From 18 conclusions of the RS Assembly, delegates in the RS Government supported only one. Delegates demanded the additional report from the Government Prime Minister. The RS Prime Minister, Milorad Dodik said that there will be no new report. Reported by Nedeljka Breberina from Banja Luka.

Brussels

The High Representative for B&H, Wolfgang Petritsch addressed the NAC in Brussels today. Then he met the NATO Secretary General, George Robertson. They agreed that the number of SFOR soldiers in B&H shouldn’t be reduced, because they are very important for the security in this country. Citizens of B&H should know that they are welcome to join Europe, said Wolfgang Petritsch. Reported by Ines Sabljic from Brussels.

World

The UNHCR in Pristina announced that the return of minorities would be performed in several phases, in accordance with the agreement with leaders of Kosovo Albanians. The UNHCR finds this agreement an important turning point for Kosovo.

The UN are still trying to liberate 50 UN soldiers, captured by rebels in Sierra Leone. The UN Secretary General, Kofi Anan blamed the United Revolutionary Front leader for the capturing. Rebels deny that they keep any hostages.

More than a hundred pre-war citizens returned to Zepa, with the international community help. They live in tents for now, and hope that the international community will help them reconstruct their houses. The report was produced by Damir Kaletovic.
