The RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik signed today in New York the Agreement on the RS telecommunication reconstruction amounting to $ several millions with the RSL Communication Director. This agreement represents direct American investment in the RS.

Momcilo Krajisnik, the member of the BiH Presidency from the RS spoke today to the Governor of the Central Bank Peter Nicholl and the OHR economic advisor Didier Fau about the liquidation of the Narodna Banka of BiH.

We got the information from the OSCE that the PEC had adopted the amendment to Article 1 (the Electoral Rules and Regulations) which refer to the duration of the mandates. A mandate of the members of the BiH Presidency (three of them) will last for four years. The mandate of the ones elected for the House of Representatives, the House of Peoples of the BH Parliament, the President and the Vice President of the BiH Federation, the House of Representatives and the House of the Peoples of the Parliament of the BiH Federation, the RS President and the RS Deputy President, the RS NA, the Cantonal Assemblies in the BiH Federation will last for 2 years.

The International Supervisor R. Farrand expressed satisfaction with the improvement of the multi-ethnicity introduced in the administration, the police and the judiciary in that town. At today’s press conference he stated that by the end of the month his order that refers to the multi-ethnic composition in the institutions of the municipal administration of Brcko would be fully implemented. Due to this order of Supervisor Farrand the Trade Union of the municipal administration institutions of Brcko protested. According to Farrand’s order, 52 out of 141 Serbs- employees will be fired, mostly the members of the families of the fallen Serb soldiers. Their posts will be given to the Muslims – returnees.
The protest of the Trade Union will be forwarded to the RS Government Vice President Ostoja Kremenovic tonight, while it has already been forwarded to the International Supervisor for Brcko, Robert Farrand.

The RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik spoke today in New York to the President of the World Jewish Congress, Mr. Singer about the DA implementation, the refugee return, the cooperation of the RS and the Congress. It was agreed that Mr. Singer would visit the RS and Banja Luka in June this year.

From today the Koprivna village near Sanski Most officially belongs to the RS. The IEBL was moved today for 1850 m toward Sanski Most. This is a great opportunity for 1, 200 citizens of Koprivna to return to their homes.

The SFOR should leave the Trebevic transmitter site on May 28th, 1998 when the RS Ministry of Interior will take control over the site, is agreed today by the local police, SFOR and the SRT representatives.

The OHR spokesperson Simon Haselock stated at the press conference held in Banja Luka that the Media Commission for the BiH was about to be established. “The purpose of the Commission is to promote the pluralism in the media and to ensure that the broadcasting licenses are issued and regulated without political and party-like interventions. The Commission presents no censorship nor the repressive measure. It will be comprised of experts and members of the legal and the media associations from both Entities…
Right now the SRT is the model of media that functions properly. The RTV BiH will soon be transferred into the TV of the BiH Federation. There are some aspirations for making the common TV for the whole BiH,” Simon Haselock stated .
