The High Representative calls for Moderation in the Discussion of the Constitutional Court Decision

The High Representative, Wolfgang Petritsch, once again reminds all officials and citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina that under the BiH Constitution the decisions of the Constitutional Court are final and binding.

It is the duty of every official and every government at every level in BiH to accept decisions made by the Constitutional Court. It is also their duty to refrain from opposing its decisions using inflammatory language.

This is a very basic democratic principle.

The High Representative looks forward to a constructive discussion on implementation of the recently announced decision on the constituent status of the peoples of BiH once it is gazetted and thereby becomes effective.

To amend a constitution is a normal democratic procedure and a sign of political maturity.
