Pursuant to the conclusions of the Federation Forum held on 16 April 1998,
the Ministry of Justice of the Central Bosnian Canton - Travnik is publishing the
ANNOUNCEMENT
on the renewed process of the appointment of judges to the Cantonal Court, Travnik
- The number of judges under the published Competition dated 3 January
1998 are to be appointed to the Cantonal Court Travnik
In addition to the general requirements for employment, the
candidate should meet the following requirements:
- to be a citizen of BiH or the BiH Federation;
- to be a graduate of the faculty of law, and to have
passed the bar exam; and
- to have at least four years of experience working
as a judge or as a president of the municipal court, or as municipal
prosecutor or his/her deputy, or as an attorney or lawyer; or eight years of
experience working on other legal matters after passing the bar exam, and,
by working in the mentioned judicial bodies or lawyer's office, has acquired
dignity of a legal expert who has moral characteristics for carrying out the
office of a cantonal court judge.
- The process of appointment of judges has been
re-opened in the Cantonal Court.
- All applications received will be considered by the
Judicial Appointment Commission, an independent body established in
consultation with the OHR and OSCE, and the Commission's operation will be
monitored by the international organisations.
- There will be two vacancies for judges of an
ethnicity other than Croat or Bosniak. Applications from qualified persons
of an ethnicity other than Croat or Bosniak are particularly encouraged.
The final deadline for Croat and Bosniak applicants is 4 May 1998.
Applications from candidates of an ethnicity other than Croat or Bosniak
will continue to be accepted until the two vacancies reserved for those
applicants are filled.
