Press Statement from the US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Sarajevo, 07 March 2001

The U.S. Embassy fully supports todayıs decision by the High Representative to dismiss Croat BiH Presidency Member Ante Jelavic and other named HDZ officials from office. Mr. Jelavic and others in the HDZ have taken actions that are anti-Dayton and would result in marginalizing of the Croat people in Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to protect their own interests.

The U.S. Embassy will continue to work closely with the High Representative and others in the International Community to ensure the protection of the rights of all Croats as guaranteed by the Dayton Accords. We look forward to working with all legitimate representatives of the Croat people in advancing the interests of the Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Saopstenje ambasade Sjedinjenih Americkih Drzava u Bosni i Hercegovini
