OHR Mostar Press Release

The Session of the Management Board of Mostar "Vodovod"

Mostar, 05 May 2000

OHR(S) and the World Bank express their satisfaction with today's successful session of the newly-formed Management Board of the future unified Mostar Water Supply Company "Vodovod". The session, attended by both Croat and Bosniak representatives, was a precondition for the realization of the 12 million US dollar World Bank credit line intended for the improvement of water supply in Mostar.

Important decisions were made as the election of President of the Management Board and his Deputy, as well as the election of the acting Director and his Deputy, along with technical decisions on the registration of the merged company. OHR (S) and the WB welcome the constructive approach taken by all members of the Management Board and their commitment to the realization of the World Bank project. We also regret any misunderstanding over the non-attendance of Croat members of the Board at the last session, as it transpired that they were not properly informed.

OHR (S) believes that today's session marks the beginning of a new, brighter chapter in the story of water supply in Mostar. Almost 2 years of negotiations will hopefully soon result in better water and sewage system for all citizens of Mostar.
