Open Broadcast Network Launches New Web Site

17 December 1998

Today The Open Broadcast Network launched its own OBN Web Site on the Internet giving detailed information to all visitors to the site.

The site, designed and set up with SFOR's assistance, Corporal Ryan Hogg from the Product Development Section and Major Jon Price, the CJ5 Planning Officer of SFOR's Information Campaign, is divided into four categories - General Information, Programming, Advertising and Viewers. General Information includes the history and objectives of OBN. Visitors can find the OBN mission statement, editorial charter, transmission map, frequencies, list of OBN affiliates and correspondents bureaux here. Programming includes daily programme schedules for OBN viewers in Bosnia and Herzegovina and viewers outside the country who receive the signal by satellite, OBN's press releases and daily news headlines from ' TV Info' from the night before. Advertising includes detailed information about how to advertise on OBN and regular OBN viewers can find out more about their favourite OBN presenters and send their own comments directly to OBN in the Viewers Category.

Jenny Ranson, Chief Executive of the OBN Trust said, " We hope the OBN web site will be visited by people all over the world and are delighted to have it up an running. We are naturally very proud to be the only independent cross-entity television station in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and setting up the web site is another step forward in enhancing the OBN profile and attracting investors and future advertisers".
