OBN Completes Affiliate Network

22 September 1998

The Open Broadcast Network has now established a complete network of affiliates covering the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina - a major step forward towards bringing pluralistic and independent television cross-entity.

Yesterday, TV Tesanj from the Federation and TV Rudo from Republika Srpska signed their contracts to join the OBN Network giving OBN new coverage of the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina. For the first time OBN will now have access to Sava and Drina - two new areas which have not been covered since the beginning of the war.

These are the last two affiliates to sign contracts following TV 3 Prnjavor in Banja Luka, TV Arena Bijeljina & TV Prijedor also based in Republika Srpska who joined the network last month.

These five new affiliates are as important as the other 12 which now belong to the network as they are all located in areas which have not been covered before. They will now have the opportunity to 'tell their story' from their region to other OBN viewers which will result in a positive step towards bringing the whole country together. The Open Broadcast Network feels proud to play such a significant role in fulfilling its role under the Dayton Peace Agreement and for the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
