Open Broadcast Network Brings
Romeo & Juliet to its Viewers

Sarajevo, 24 July 1998

On Monday 27th July at 20.00 OBN cameras will cover a special performance by the Romeo & Juliet Choir, on tour from the Royal Dramatic Theater in Stockholm, at Dom Armije, Sarajevo. OBN will then dedicate a special half-hour programme shown across the country especially for those viewers who don't make it to the concert, which will be transmitted on Sunday 2nd August at 21.45 on OBN.

The choir, also performing in Banja Luka on Wednesday 29th July, have gained an international reputation as guardians of the rich musical treasure of the Renaissance since 1991. The group, artistically directed and conducted by Benoit Malmberg, have developed and staged their own production - mixing music, drama and dance in an inventive way. It is from the scenic images that the music evokes and a story is formed.

Gabriel Vukadin, OBN Operations Manager, commented, "We are delighted at the prospect of having such a prestigious choir perform in Sarajevo and realised that sadly not everyone would be able to travel to see them. With our cross-entity transmission we are able to bring such events to viewers across Bosnia and Herzegovina".

Sven-Olof Johanson, Chargé d'Affaires said, "the Embassy of Sweden is happy that the choir, once again, has the possibility to perform in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is now their third consecutive visit to the country and every year they are more and more popular".
