OSCE Mission to BiH and OHR Concerned Over the Situation in Central Bosnia Canton

The OSCE Mission to BiH and OHR are concerned that no solution has been found yet for students inCentral Bosnia that would ensure their uninterrupted education in the Canton’s schools. 

The OSCE and OHR wish to remind the Cantonal authorities that until the appointment of the new Minister of Education takes place, the Cantonal government remains responsible for ensuring implementation of the education laws, as well as fulfilling the  commitments Bosnia and Herzegovina undertook upon joining the Council of Europe.

We therefore ask the Cantonal Prime Minister and the Acting Minister of Education to take immediate steps to resolve the deteriorating situation in the Canton ’s schools, in the first place by implementing the existing education laws.
