The Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Zivko Radisic expressed optimism about the prospects of the RS and FBiH in the next year, saying that the focus will be on the stabilisation of the legal institutions and economic and social situation. He also expressed hope the diplomatic relations will be established between BiH and the FRY.

The RS Minister of Finance denied the statement publicised in yesterday’s re-established as of January 1. “I have mentioned neither such decision nor the date”, says Kondic in his denial. SRT apologises to Minister Kondic and the viewers, and adds the mistake was due to reporter’s attributing other official’s statement to Minister Kondic.

The Association of taxi drivers of Srpsko Sarajevo condemned in their statement to ‘SRNA’ agency the loathsome murder of their Sarajevo colleague Denis Imamovic. They insist on urgent investigation by the RS and FBiH institutions.

The OHR spokesman, Daniel Luce told the news briefing in Sarajevo today that the HR requested appropriate measures from the RS and FBiH authorities in order to find the perpetrators of yesterday’s murder of a 21 year old taxi driver. According to Luce, a few hours after the body was found, between 500 and 1,000 taxi drivers blocked the transit road to Pale, and around 18:00 hours a group of 200-300 people attacked a UN vehicle in the Stari Grad municipality of Sarajevo. According to him there were no wounded UN personnel. As Luce said, the IPTF held a meeting with the local taxi drivers association and the Cantonal police in order to clear the road. The OHR spokesman said that the OHR condemns the attacks on their vehicles. The OHR spokesman also informed the press that the OHR is looking into possibilities of establishing international television based on modern democratic principles.

The Serb National Alliance (SNS) held a press conference in Banja Luka today. “The situation in the RS was stabilised last year, thanks to Mrs. Plavsic and the present RS Government”, said the SNS representative, Stanko Stanic. When asked if a foreign citizen can be a member of the SRT Steering Board, the member of the SNS Main Board, Dragutin Rodic said it was not in accordance with the RS laws, but that he supposed the International Administrator had dual citizenship.
