RS Prime Minister Dodik made a two-day visit to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. As of April next year, the RS and BiH are to become members of the Council of Europe, Dodik said on his way back from Strasbourg.

The recent elections and the current situation in the RS were the topics of separate meetings between the Russian Ambassador to BiH, Philip Sidorsky, and the SRS president, Nikola Poplasen, SPS RS president, Zivko Radisic, and SDS president, Nikola Kalinic. “We talked about the implementation of the DA with Mr. Poplasen. Russia, as one of the members of the Contact Group, is especially interested in its implementation” Sidorsky said.

Philip Sidorsky and Radisic talked about the implementation of the DA after announcement of the official election results. They also exchanged opinions on the situation in Kosovo. Radisic stated that the stability of the RS, i.e. BiH, depends on the situation in Kosovo.

Philip Sidorsky met with the leaders of SDS as well. Sidorsky was satisfied to hear the SDS leaders telling him that this party was ready to cooperate with the IC in implementation of the DA. This meeting discussed the situation on Kosovo, too. Kalinic expressed the hope that the situation in Kosovo would be resolved by dialogue.

The Minister of Defence in the RS Government, Manojlo Milovanovic, in today’s conversation with Philip Sidorsky, stressed that RS was not in any way involved in the current events taking place in Kosovo, but that Kosovo was a moral issue of all Serbs.

The UNHCR representative from Zagreb, Andrej Mehacic, stated in Banja Luka today that over 2,000 people had returned to Croatia from FRY in the last two months. He informed journalists that the Croatian Government had changed the laws on temporary use of abandoned property, as well as the laws on lease of apartments in order to equalise the rights of returnees with the rights of other citizens of that country.
