The HR to B&H Carlos Westendorp talked in Banja Luka today with the representatives of the Coalition “Sloga” Biljana Plavsic, Zivko Radisic and Milorad Dodik about the implementation of the new property law, the Assembly constitution and the RS Government establishment. The announced meeting of the HR with the newly elected President of the RS Nikola Poplasen was canceled because of, as it was stated, some urgent matters of the HR.

The French President Jacques Chirac sent congratulations to the members of the B&H Presidency regarding their taking over the position. In the congratulation card addressed to the B&H Presidency chairman, Zivko Radisic, among other things, it was stated that the elections held on September 12 and 13 presented the end of an important phase in the implementation of the peace agreement, witnessed the deepening of the process of democratization and favored the calming down of the hatred. “Facing successfully the challenges which are before you, you will guarantee the European future of B&H which France intends to keep on protecting”, the congratulation said.

The agreement on the OSCE monitoring mission to Kosmet was signed in Belgrade today by the OSCE Presiding Bronislav Geremek and Yugoslav Minister of Foreign Affairs Zivadin Jovanovic. The NATO decided in Brussels tonight to prolong by October 27 the deadline by which the FRY President Slobodan Milosevic has to fulfill the requests from the Resolution 1199 of the UN Council of Security regarding Kosovo. The NATO Council made a decision on keeping the state of alert for the start of possible air attacks against the FRY, including sending of the reinforced air forces to the region.
