Peace negotiations are in a decisive phase. Chernomyrdin, Ahtisaari, and Talbott talked with German Chancellor, Schroeder about the solution of the Kosovo crisis.

NATO General Freytag assessed the NATO air campaign as a success saying that FRY forces were significantly weaker compared to the beginning of the campaign. Jamie Shea said that there were no official contacts between NATO and KLA but that KLA benefitted from NATO attacks.
RS Vice President, Sarovic, RS NA Speaker, Djokic and Sloga members, in separate meetings, met with the High Representative, Carlos Westendorp. Unblocking the work of the B&H common institutions and tomorrow’s session of the RS NA were the main topics of the meeting between HR, Westendorp and Speaker, Djokic. The RS is affected by the FRY conflict and the international community will make additional efforts to help the RS.- Westendorp said after the meeting with Sloga. “There is no question of reviewing Dayton”.- Westendorp said.
Dodik met with the President of the Trade Union Association, Volas. It was agreed that the RS Government would allocate part of the funding for workers who are out of job due to the FRY crisis.
Chairman of the B&H Presidency, Radisic issued a press statement regarding Silajdzic’s latest remarks. The statement states that Silajdzic needs to be warned that revision of the DA is possible only with full consent of all three constitutive nations and two entities.
The decision on conduct of local elections will be known by June 20, 1999. For now it is known they will be conducted under PEC rules.- it was said in the meeting between Head of the OSCE mission, Barry and political parties.
A. Stiglmayer said that the High Representative considers that all suggestions implying revision of the DA are not unhelpful and destructive. The Peace agreement had to be implemented and the HR calls upon the B&H authorities to start serious implementation of the DA.
