News Summary:

Djokic expresses surprise over RS Constitutional Court statement (00:37) RS National Assembly speaker Petar Djokic said he was taken by surprise with the RS Constitutional statement that SRNA reported on 8 September. According to the statement, the Court said it does not know anything about the issue of dissolving the Government or dismissing its members. Djokic added that it would be important for those who made such a statement to once again read through the RS Constitution, Article 94, Point 6, which clearly presents information concerning the dismissal of the RS Government and its members. He hopes that the Court will be objective and not fall into the trap of political requests and expectations.

RS Constitutional Court reaction to Djokic statement (00:41) The RS Constitutional Court issued an announcement following Djokic’s statement on a Court statement supposedly issued to SRNA on 8 September. It said that neither the Court President nor any of the court justices gave official or unofficial statements regarding the RS National Assembly non-confidence vote in the RS Government. It added that, should an initiative be raised on the constitutionality of certain legislative acts of the RS National Assembly, the Court would discuss them and decide on them

in accordance with the procedure defined in the RS Constitution and laws. The RS Constitutional Court has no need to issue any kind of official statements as were mentioned in this instance, reads the announcement.
