News Summary

Party of Democratic Progress established in Banja Luka

The inaugural assembly of the Party of Democratic Progress was held in Banja Luka. The basic goals of the party are stabilization of the political situation and the protection of the RS from attempts for its elimination, respect of the Dayton Agreement and the return of dignity to the Serb people and all citizens of the RS. Professor Mladen Ivanic was elected party President and the Vice-presidents will be Branko Dokic from Banja Luka and Zoran Djuric from Rogatica. Ivanic informed the public of the party platform. “The continuing development of a society based on a multi-parliamentary system and market economy will enable the RS and BiH to become an equal part of the modern world” stated Ivanic. The Party of Democratic Progress will support an economic system without obstructions to the involvement of the RS and BiH in European integration. The party will hold its first congress in January 2000 to adopt its program.
