News Summary
Serb Party of RS press release
The Serb Party of the RS commented on the OSCE Provisional Election Commission’s decision to prohibit the participation of this party in the upcoming local elections in BiH. The Serb Party considers that no one can be punished twice for the same offense. It stated that its president, Predrag Lazarevic, has been punished for supposedly organizing a protest rally at the funeral of Banja Luka Mufti Ibrahim Halilovic in August 1998. The IC used identical reasoning to condition the registration of the Serb Party of the RS for the upcoming BiH local elections. The reduction of the number of candidates could influence the results of BiH local elections, said the Serb Party of the RS.
