News Summary

No Serb politician in BiH can rise above collective nationalism – CD Coalition Head of Caucus

CD Coalition Head of Caucus Safet Bico stated that there is no Bosnian Serb politician who can rise above collective nationalism. In an interview given to the Banja Luka weekly Nezavisne Novine, Bico said that RS Prime Minister Milorad Dodik has disappointed the CD Coalition which brought him to power and without whose votes he would not be able to remain in the position of prime minister. Bico announced that the CD Coalition would, through the OHR, require restructuring of the RS Government and dismissal of some ministers, namely the Interior Minister, Minister for Refugees and DPs, Urban Development Minister and Minister of Justice.

Decisions on return of housing unsatisfactory – Ferguson

At a press conference held in Banja Luka, OHR spokesman James Ferguson stated that the process of issuing certificates for the return of housing law in BiH is unsatisfactory. The OHR believes that BiH leaders who live in flats for which a request for return of housing has been filed, should move out even before the effective court decision. The OHR will, within a working group for return and reconstruction, closely monitor this situation and undertake measures against those who abuse their positions and use flats belonging to someone else.
