News Summary

BiH House of Representatives holds session

The BiH House of Representatives held a session on Tuesday where the Council of Ministers failed to deliver a report on their work. Due to this, the BiH House of Representatives asked for an initiative to revoke the Council of Ministers. Council of Ministers Co-chairman Svetozar Mihajlovic informed the House before the session that there is no report because the Council of Ministers had not met since 23 September. Representatives accepted the SDP suggestion to hold discussion on the issue of giving foreigners BiH citizenship. Four months ago, the SDP suggested a draft on the law on BiH holidays, according to which BiH would have four holidays, which caused discussion and a walk out by SDP delegates. President of the SDP delegates’ club Sejfudin Tokic stated the “interruption of every opportunity to include SDP delegates initiatives into the agenda made us caused us to find no reason to remain and act in a Parliament that is obviously only prepared for blockades and obstructions.”

SDP comments on abolishment of live broadcasting of Parliament sessions

The SDP asserted that with the abolishment of live TV broadcasting of state and BiH Federation Parliament sessions, the inefficiency of the legislative authority is being hidden. If the RTV BiH audience are not able to watch live Parliamentary sessions, the SDP will initiate other measures like calling for the non-payment of subscriptions and the withdrawal of SDP delegates from the Parliaments.
