Head of the OSCE mission in BH, Ambassador Robert Frowick briefed Chairman of the BH Presidency Alija Izetbegovic on his visit to Srebrenica. The two collocutors discussed results of the recently held municipal elections, particularly in Srebrenica, Most, Brcko, Bihac and Velika Kladusa. Izetbegovic offered Ambassador Frowick his support in the implementation of the election results.

The meeting between Chairman of the BH Presidency Alija Izetbegovic and UN SRSG Kai Eide mostly focused on the restructuring of the police force in Mostar. Izetbegovic confirmed his commitment to the restructuring of police as agreed and forwarded his greetings to the UN SG on the occasion of the UN 52nd anniversary.

UN SRSG Kai Eide met with Kresimir Zubak, a member of the BH Presidency and Valentin Colic, President of the FBH to discuss the restructuring of police in the Neretva-Herzegovina Canton. Ambassador Eide indicated that the international community would take certain steps if the process of restructuring of police force in that canton was not completed on time.
A meeting on the same issue was held at the FBH Interior Ministry. Ambassador Eide, US Ambassador Kauslarich, OHR officials and Minister Zilic and his Deputy Leotar and Deputy Interior Minister of the Neretva-Herzegovina canton Sefkija Dziho attended the meeting. Interior Minister Valentin Coric did not come to the meeting, underlined the report. The participants reviewed the IPTF High Commissioner’s proposed draft comprising two documents: guidelines on the restructuring of police in the Herzegovina-Neretva canton and the Memorandum of Understanding on reorganisation of the FBH Interior Ministry. While the Bosniak side fully agreed on the proposed documents, the Croatian side did not.

The next session of the Federation Forum will be held in Travnik on 30 October. Travnik was chosen as the venue because the American Administration decided to focus on the Central Bosnian Canton. Return of refugees, privatisation and private ownership will be main topics on the agenda.
The meeting Orucevic-Prskalo- Garrod was held at the new city administration building in Mostar. Robert Wright, Military Advisor to the HR attended the meeting as well. The opening of the Mostar airport was the top issue on the agenda.
