News Summary
The return of Bosniak refugees to Klanac, Brcko, is still an unresolved issue
On 17 April, Serb refugees in Klanac, Brcko, stopped Bosniak returnees from restoring a damaged house, which they would use as a place to stay while repairing other houses. During the intervention of Brcko District Police, a (Serb) refugee from Visoko, Gospava Cvijanovic, was injured. Brcko Chief of Police Pero Djuric stated that Cvijanovic and a couple of other people were the main organizers and those most responsible for the incident. Brcko Supervisor Robert Farrand stated that the issue of Klanac is a very important one. Brcko District police officials promised that the police would enable a secure environment for refugee return, as well as warning individuals that nothing can be achieved through the use of violence.
